Shadow Day is a globally recognized career education program by Junior Achievement Latvia for students in grades 1–12, during which young people have the opportunity to explore various professions and their day-to-day routines.
Every year, the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Latvia invites students to explore the world of the humanities by learning about the work of researchers, faculty members, and industry specialists. Participants have the opportunity to meet linguists, theologians, historians, philosophers, sociologists, archaeologists, bioarchaeologists, and other humanities professionals, learning more about their daily responsibilities, research work, and career opportunities.
During the Shadow Day, students not only observe professionals at work but also get to know the environment of the Faculty of Humanities at the University of Latvia, its study opportunities, and the daily life of students. The program often includes visits to faculty facilities, the library, and archives, as well as conversations with students and faculty members, who provide valuable insights into the study process and future career choices.
Shadow Day is a great opportunity to experience the humanities in practice, ask questions of industry experts, and get a sense of what it’s like to study at the University of Latvia.
We invite you to join us for the next Shadow Day with us!
