The book is a significant collaborative work between poet Kārlis Vērdiņš and translator Valts Ernštreits – director of the Livonian Institute at the Faculty of Humanities, University of Latvia – offering a contemporary perspective on Livonian culture and its heritage. The collection invites readers to take a closer look at the Livonian language, traditions, historical experience and cultural memory, whilst enabling them to view this heritage within the context of contemporary culture.
We warmly congratulate both on this significant recognition; we are particularly proud of our colleague Valts Ernštreits’ contribution to the preservation and development of the Livonian language and culture!
This year, the Prize Awarding Ceremony will take place during the 45th Session of the Baltic Assembly, on 22 October in Tallinn, Estonia.
