DESCRIPTION:2026. gada 27. un 28. augustā Latvijas Universitātes Humanitāro zinātņu fakultātē (LU HZF) (Kalpaka bulvārī 4\, 2. stāvā) notiks starptautiska zinātniskā konference “No trimdas uz pēctrimdu: transformācijas\, pielāgošanās un dzimtene”.\nBaltijas valstu neatkarības atgūšana radīja jaunas iespējas un izaicinājumus. Ārpus Latvijas dzīvojošajiem latviešiem tā iezīmēja pāreju no trimdas uz tā dēvēto pēctrimdas stāvokli. Šis jēdziens apzīmē ne tikai hronoloģisku posmu pēc trimdas perioda\, bet arī eksistenciālu stāvokli\, kurā pārvietošanas\, piederības un sašķeltības pieredze turpina veidot individuālo un kolektīvo identitāti neatkarīgi no tā\, vai cilvēks fiziski atgriežas dzimtenē. Trimdas stāsti un pieredze arī jaunajos apstākļos saglabā būtisku nozīmi cilvēku dzīvē un priekšstatos par piederību. \nKonferenci atklās projekta “Pēctrimdas fenomens: transformācijas un pielāgošanās latviešu trimdas kopienā pēc 1991. gada” vadītāja Maija Krūmiņa un LU HZF zinātņu prodekāns Toms Ķencis. \nKonferences galvenā vieslektore: Katja Sarkovska (Katja Sarkowsky)\, Augsburgas Universitātes profesore\, viena no grāmatas “Nachexil / Post-Exile” (De Gruyter\, 2020) redaktorēm. Savā priekšlasījumā viņa pievērsīsies jautājumam\, vai trimda beidzas līdz ar politisko apstākļu maiņu un iespēju atgriezties dzimtenē\, kā arī tam\, kā pēc trimdas no jauna tiek veidota un pārskatīta piederības izjūta. \nKonferencē pētnieki no Francijas\, Igaunijas un Latvijas iepazīstinās ar pētījumiem par trimdas un pēctrimdas pieredzi dažādos vēsturiskos un mūsdienu kontekstos. Referātos tiks aplūkota piederības izjūta un atgriešanās Latvijā\, dažādu trimdas paaudžu attiecības ar dzimteni\, trimdas pārstāvju iesaiste Latvijas sabiedriskajos un politiskajos procesos pēc neatkarības atjaunošanas\, kā arī trimdas un pēctrimdas pieredzes atspoguļojums literatūrā un kultūrā. Trimdas arhīvi un kolektīvā vēsture”\, kuras centrā būs jautājums par piederību un atmiņu: vai trimdas pieredze šodien ir kļuvusi par mūsu kopīgo Latvijas vēsturi\, vai arī tā joprojām saglabājas kā atsevišķa agrākās trimdas kopienas kolektīvā atmiņa? \nDiskusijā tiks runāts par Austra Graša privāto arhīvu Ozolmuižas pilī\, Lielbritānijas latviešu īpašumā “Straumēni” esošo arhīvu\, kā arī Austrālijas un Jaunzēlandes trimdas arhīviem – par tajos atrodamajiem materiāliem\, to pieejamību pētniekiem un šo krājumu nākotni. Sarunā piedalīsies folkloras pētniece Ilga Vālodze Ābelkina\, literatūrzinātniece Inguna Daukste-Silasproģe un Latvijas Okupācijas muzeja biedrības valdes priekšsēde Valda Liepiņa.\nDiskusija notiks latviešu valodā. \n\n\n(ENG)\nOn 27 and 28 August 2026\, the international scientific conference “From Exile to Post-Exile: Transformations\, Transitions\, and the Homeland” will take place at the Faculty of Humanities of the University of Latvia (Kalpaka bulvāris 4\, 2nd floor).\nThe restoration of independence in the Baltic States created new opportunities and challenges. For Latvians living outside Latvia\, it marked a transition from exile to what can be described as a post-exilic condition. This concept denotes not only a chronological phase following the period of exile\, but also an existential condition in which experiences of displacement\, belonging\, and rupture continue to shape individual and collective identities\, regardless of whether a person physically returns to the homeland. Even under these new circumstances\, stories and experiences of exile continue to play an important role in people’s lives and their understanding of belonging. \nThe conference will be opened by Maija Krūmiņa\, head of the project “Navigating Post-Exile: Transformations and Transitions in the Latvian Exile Community after 1991”\, and Toms Ķencis\, Vice-Dean for Research at the Faculty of Humanities\, University of Latvia. \nThe conference keynote speaker is Katja Sarkowsky\, Professor at the University of Augsburg and one of the editors of Nachexil / Post-Exile (De Gruyter\, 2020). In her keynote lecture\, she will address whether exile ends when political circumstances change and return to the homeland becomes possible\, as well as how a sense of belonging is renegotiated and reconfigured after exile. \nResearchers from France\, Estonia\, and Latvia will present studies on experiences of exile and post-exile in a range of historical and contemporary contexts. The presentations will explore questions of belonging and return to Latvia\; the relationships between different generations of exiles and the homeland\; the involvement of members of the exile community in Latvia’s social and political processes following the restoration of independence\; and representations of exile and post-exile in literature and culture. Exile Archives and Collective History”\, which will focus on questions of belonging and memory: has the experience of exile today become part of our shared history of Latvia\, or does it remain a distinct collective memory of the former exile community? \nThe discussion will address the private archive of Austris Grasis at Ozolmuiža Palace\, the archive held at “Straumēni”\, a Latvian property in the United Kingdom\, as well as Latvian exile archives in Australia and New Zealand. Participants will discuss the materials held in these archives\, their accessibility to researchers\, and the future of these collections.
